Companies run on information systems, networks and with security. The industry buzz is all about big data and analytics. This is the world of the Information Technology and Quantitative Methods Department.
Jobs, Jobs, Jobs
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts that though 2020 the IT sector will experience very high job growth. The projected average growth rate for information technology and system professionals is greater than the rate projected for all other occupations. A degree in information technology is a great option for students looking to attain a career with job security.
Want an exciting career?
You will make a choice with the help of our faculty to study in a focused area of information technology.1 Some of the areas students love to work in include corporate networking and cyber–security, big data and database management, or healthcare information technology.
Another area of study the Information Technology and Quantitative Methods Department supports is Business Analytics. The job market is strong for students graduating with a degree that combines information technology and quantitative skills. There are many reports that indicate there is a shortage of managers and analysts who know how to use and analyze large data sets to make effective decisions.
Students who graduated from our programs work in different information technology and quantitative fields and in different industries. They work, for example, at MetLife, Harford Insurance, Bank of America, Canon USA, CBS, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and JP Morgan.
There is always a lot happening in the IT/QM department. Please browse our web pages and learn more.
