Undergraduate Executive Speaker Series
The Zarb Executive Speaker Series invited high level c-suite executives from all industries to speak to students every semester. The executives are leaders in their field and share their expertise within the industry in addition to their outlook on future developments. They also discuss the keys to success and how they climbed the corporate ladder. Following their discussion, students have the opportunity to network with these executives and build relationships within the industry.
Steven Levitt, Partner, Levitt LLP and Hofstra Alum
Steven Levitt, partner at Levitt LLP, recognized by Forbes as a top “Leader in Law”, spoke to students as part of the Frank G. Zarb School of Business’ Undergraduate Executive Speaker Series. Levitt graduated from the business school magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with highest departmental honors, and went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra Law. He expressed to students the importance of identifying and gravitating toward people in their lives who inspire them, whether that person is a professor, a manager, or a friend. “You always have to be willing to learn,” Levitt remarked. “Some things you learn intentionally and some things you learn by accident.” Realizing individual potential by exploring one’s own strengths and weaknesses is a process that Levitt emphasized as being a huge catalyst of his own career as a successful attorney and business owner. He explained how self-confidence and persistence are the two main factors that aided him in his educational and professional careers.
