Chris DeBono
Mathematics Major
What attracted Chris to Hofstra? "I wanted to go to a school close to New York and family in the area." Chris' decision came down to two colleges. "It was between here and one other college. In the end, I just loved the campus here."
Chris considers the campus life his favorite thing about Hofstra. "I like the campus style. The dorms are separated. And you can get tickets to plays in the city." Turning to academics, Chris said, "I like the classes and the different teaching styles." He rates Professor Powell as his favorite professor because "he runs his French lit classes differently – an hour and a half discussion rather than just a lecture. I got a lot from that."
Chris, an Honors College student who is minoring in American studies and plans to attend law school after graduation, is vice president of Hofstra's Pre-Law Society as well as the pre-law fraternity. He is also social chair of the Newman Club and belongs to the Golden Key Honor Society and the Cultural Italian-American Organization.
