Hofstra UpClose

Interested in becoming a Hofstra student-for-a-day? The Hofstra UpClose Program allows prospective students to experience a day in the life of a Hofstra student. During your visit you will meet with a current student who is pursuing a degree in your major area of interest. This student will act as your host for an “UpClose Look” to what student life is all about at Hofstra. Activities include, but are not limited to: attending classes, meeting faculty and staff in your area of academic interest, dining on campus and exploring opportunities to get involved in clubs and organizations.

Visits are offered during the fall and spring semesters and are based upon student availability and the academic calendar.

Because this program requires extra planning and is tailored to fit your needs, please allow advance notice of at least 10 business days for visits to be scheduled.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us by emailing campusvisit[at]hofstra.edu or by calling 516-463-6700.

(Select UpClose from the list of options to see available dates)

In college, it is common for students to not have class every day. Therefore, some of our majors have limited class availability on specific days of the week. If you are interested in one of the majors below, please consider registering for an UpClose visit one of the weekdays listed below. If these days do not fit your schedule, we will work with you to accommodate your visit on a different day of the week.

"Participating in the Hofstra UpClose program truly allowed me to delve into what college life would be like. UpClose allowed me to experience Hofstra from a student perspective, something a website just couldn't give me! During my UpClose visit, I was able to get a feel for the life on the campus, the relationships between students, and I was even able to try the food. I was also able to sit in on a class, and speak to a professor from my area of study so that I could have all of my questions answered! Beginning with my UpClose experience, I received an amazing sense of being able to thrive here at Hofstra, and that feeling has never gone away."
