The Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies at Hofstra University held a free Land Training Program for Municipal Planning and Zoning Officials at Hofstra on Monday, September 22, 2008 from 5:15 to 9:15 P.M. in the Hofstra University Club, David S. Mack Hall, North Campus. The training session included a panel presentation on Downtown and Transit-Oriented Development. The moderator was Ashira Ostrow, Assistant Professor of Law, Hofstra University. The panelists included Ann Golob, Director, Long Island Index, Rauch Foundation, Honorable Steve Bellone, Supervisor, Town of Babylon and Michael E. White, Esq., Executive Director, Long Island Regional Planning Council. Following the panel discussion, Land Use Law Updated presentations were given by Benjamin Weinstock, Esq. Partner, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., who spoke about Religious Land Use Issues for Public Officials and Mark S. Mulholland, Esq., Partner, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. who discussed Eminent Domain Disputes in New York State. A light supper was served.
