Areas of specialization are metaphysics, Hume, American philosophy, feminism, and ethics.

Publications include "Hume on Regulating Belief and Moral Sentiment" (Hume Studies 28, no. 1, 2002, 83-111); "Autonomous 'I' of an Intersectional Self" (Journal of Speculative Philosophy, 17, 3, 2003, 176-91; "Educating for Autonomy: Identity and Intersectional Selves" (in Education for a Democratic Society, eds. Current work is on autonomy, identity and responsibility. Dr. Wallace has been chairperson of the Department of Philosophy, co-director of Women's Studies, and is currently a Fellow of the Center for Teaching and Scholarly Excellence.
