Bio:
Victoria (Geyer) Semple teaches public relations courses in both the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Journalism, Media Studies and Public Relations. Professor Semple’s research interests include the gender imbalance found within the public relations discipline and the use of digital media in business communication. She has presented and published work in these research areas including publications in PR Journal, Communication Teacher and Bulldog Reporter. Professor Semple is a proud recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Teacher of the Year award. She served as faculty advisor to Hofstra’s chapter of PRSSA from 2005-2011.
Professor Semple is currently a member of the University’s Center of Teaching and Scholarly Excellence (CTSE). She earned her B.A. in broadcasting and mass communication from SUNY Oswego and a M.A. in media ecology from New York University.
