Field of Study: Comparative Literature

Research Interests: North African and Palestinian Literature and film in Arabic and French; Religious, cultural, and trans-national affiliation; Gender studies; Intertextuality; Jews in the Arab world; Islamic and Jewish discourses in literature and film; Space and representation

Previous Teaching Specialization: Graduate Student Instructor and Teaching Assistant at UC Berkeley (between 2000-2007). Designed and solo- or co-taught many courses. Taught in Comparative Literature, Gender Studies, Islamic Studies and Arabic Language. Also, was a Teaching Assistant at the Skidmore College site of Johns Hopkins' Center for Talented Youth (Summers 1995-97). Also have taught in the Occupied Palestinian West Bank; Morocco; Egypt; and Senegal.
