Bio:

Victoria Geyer, assistant professor in the department of journalism, media studies, and public relations teaches the courses offered in the Public Relations major. Her teaching and research interests include the gender disparity in public relations and new media trends affect on business communication. Professor Geyer has presented her research at local, regional, and national conferences and has published work in these areas. Professor Geyer's interest in digital media goes beyond industry research; she recently collaborated with Manning, Selvage & Lee (MS&L) worldwide agency in New York to provide a comprehensive digital media curriculum for students. At Hofstra, Victoria is a faculty advisor for the Hofstra chapter of PRSSA and the student-run public relations firm, PRestige Agency. She is also a member of the University’s Environmental Priorities Committee (EPC), Association of Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), Eastern Communication Association (ECA), New York State Communication Association (NYSCA), and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Victoria earned her B.A. in broadcasting and mass communication from SUNY Oswego and her M.A. in media ecology from New York University. Prior to Hofstra, she held various positions within in the media industry and taught at Marymount Manhattan College.
