Run to See "Urinetown," October 12-21, 2012The Hofstra University Department of Drama and Dance presents Urinetown, the three-time Tony Award winning musical that hits the Hofstra stage October 12, 2012, and runs through October 21st. Performances take place at Hofstra’s Black Box Theater, New Academic Building, South Campus. This production, directed by Hofstra Professor Ilona Pierce, features 17 talented student performers.
Urinetown is being presented in conjunction with the October 16 Presidential Debate at Hofstra. The show – which parodies American politics, the business world, and the musical theater genre – tells the story of a near-future society where water consumption is tightly controlled due to a 20 year drought. As a result, everyone must pay to use public bathroom facilities or suffer the horrible consequences of being banished to Urinetown.
Fridays, October 12 and 19, at 8 p.m.;
Saturdays, October 13 and 20, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.;
Sundays, October 14 and 21, at 2 p.m.;
Wednesday, October 17, at 8 p.m.;
and Thursday, October 18, at 8 p.m.
