Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY: The Hofstra community is saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and Teaching Fellow in New College, Dr. C. Roland Wagner.
Dr. Wagner served the University and his students well for many years. He was appointed in 1960 as associate professor of philosophy and teaching fellow of New College. He became a tenured faculty member in 1963, and he was promoted to professor of philosophy in 1970. He also served as area coordinator in New College.
In 1999, at the time of his retirement from Hofstra, he was honored with the distinction of Professor Emeritus in recognition of his long and meaningful service to his students, his colleagues, his school and the University as well as for his many accomplishments as a faculty member.
