Hofstra Gray Wig Alumni Theater Company presents "Company"

January 12-13 and 19-20, 2013, at Hofstra's Helene Fortunoff Theater

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … The Stephen Sondheim musical Company will be presented by Hofstra University’s Gray Wig alumni theater company, January 12-20, 2013, at the Helene Fortunoff Theater, Monroe Lecture Center, California Avenue, South Campus. Show times are Saturday, January 12, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Sunday, January 13, at 2 p.m.; Saturday, January 19, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, January 20, at 2 p.m.

Based on the book by George Furth, Company takes place on the 40th birthday of Robert, a bachelor who has been thrown a surprise party by his married friends. Throughout the evening Robert reassesses his life in vignette after hilarious vignette as he interacts with his married friends – “those good and crazy people” – and his three girlfriends.

Company has been called honest, contemporary, sophisticated, and witty. With a score that includes “The Ladies Who Lunch” and “Being Alive,” Company takes a relevant look at the relationships we deal with daily. Company has enjoyed recent revivals both on Broadway and London’s West End. The Gray Wig is delighted to bring this charming musical to Hofstra.

Tickets: $28; $25 senior citizen (65+); $20 matriculated non-Hofstra student; $20 group rate (10+); $15 with current HofstraCard (one ticket per HofstraCard).

For tickets, call the John Cranford Adams Playhouse Box Office at 516-463-6644, Monday-Friday, 11a.m.- 3:45 p.m., or order tickets online at tickets.com (enter “Company” in the search box).
