Hofstra University Hosts the Second Annual Health Policy Breakfast
Hospital Leaders Discuss Health Care Reform
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Richard Umbdenstock, president and CEO of the American Hospital Association, will speak on AHA’s Framework for Health Care Reform: Health for Life - Better Health, Better Health Care at the Hofstra University Club, David Mack Hall, North Campus on February 13, 2009 from 8-10 a.m.
The program, hosted by Hofstra University’s Health Policy Conference Planning Committee, will also feature Arthur Gianelli, president and CEO of Nassau University Medical Center, and Michael Dowling, president and CEO of North Shore/LIJ Health System, who will respond to Mr. Umbdenstock’s presentation. Sponsoring this event is EmblemHealth, Define ‘09, Hofstra’s School of Education, Health and Human Services, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the School of Law. Approximately 100 invited guests and Hofstra administrators participating in the breakfast lecture series will be attending.
This is the second of three health care breakfasts leading up to the 2010 national conference at Hofstra. New Directions in American Health Care: Innovations from Home and Abroad, March 11-12, 2010. The Hofstra University Health Policy Conference Planning Committee is composed of Dr. Corinne Kyriacou (Community Health), Janet Dolgin, Ph.D., J.D. (Law) and Rachel Kreier, Ph.D. (Economics). The third special health policy pre-conference breakfast will be held in the fall of 2009.
