"In The Footsteps of Marco Polo"
A Two Part Event on March 30 – 11:15 a.m. Meet the Filmmaker; 4:30 p.m. Faculty Discussion
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … Roughly 700 years after Marco Polo made his famed voyage from Venice to China and back, Francis O’Donnell and Denis Belliveau followed his route and filmed their journey. Their Emmy-nominated documentary, In The Footsteps of Marco Polo, will be the subject of two events at Hofstra University on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. These events are free and open to the public and will be held at the Mack Student Center, North Campus, in the Multipurpose Room East.At 11:15 a.m. Mr. O’Donnell will present clips from the film and discuss his experiences on the journey.
At 4:30 p.m. there will be a faculty panel discussion and question/answer period. Hofstra professors include Alexander Naymark, associate professor Fine Arts, and Daniel Varisco, professor of anthropology.
