Now in its sixth year, this competitive program provides research-oriented high school students the opportunity to work closely with Hofstra science faculty from Monday, July 9, 2007 through Friday, August 17, 2007. Fields of research include the natural sciences, mathematics, engineering, behavioral sciences and computer science.

Students will be selected for this competitive program on the basis of their high school science experience, a personal interview and, above all, the high school teacher's recommendation. All students must submit a completed application and letter of recommendation from a science teacher by Friday, April 6, 2007. All program participants will gather weekly for a science-enrichment session that will feature lectures by faculty or guest speakers and informal discussions on research activities by students and their mentors. All students will submit a scientific research paper at the end of the session and will present posters of their research activity at a September reception.

Science teachers interested in the program are encouraged to tour Hofstra's facilities and meet the participating research professors from Hofstra's faculty.
