More About Shotgun Wedding …

Shotgun Wedding makes its Long Island debut at the May 6 Dutch Spring Music Festival. The band hearkens back to the classic days of country, re-imagining songs by Merle Haggard, Earl Scruggs, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Earnest Tubb and the Texas Troubadours, Bob Wills, Tanya Tucker and Hank Williams. Raw, honest and from the heart, Shotgun Wedding takes a unique approach to a time-honored genre.  Shotgun Wedding’s lineup includes Hofstra alum Dennis DelGaudio, lead guitarist in the Broadway show Movin’ Out and later a touring member of Billy Joel’s band;  vocalist Hilary Gardner, recently featured in Twyla Tharp’s Sinatra-inspired musical, Come Fly Away; Wade Preston, the Piano Man in Movin’ Out; bassist Andy Cichon, who also toured with Billy Joel and has shared the stage with legends like Paul McCartney, Roger Daltrey and Steven Tyler; and Chuck Burgi, original drummer on Movin’ Out and member of Billy Joel’s band.

Hofstra University is a dynamic private institution of higher education where more than 12,000 full and part-time students choose from undergraduate and graduate offerings in liberal arts and sciences, business, engineering, communication, education, health and human services, honors studies, a School of Law and the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine.
