Hofstra University's Summer Session Courses Offer a Variety of Learning Experiences
Classes begin May 19
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Classroom-based experiences, study abroad programs and exclusive online courses are among the many summer course offerings at Hofstra beginning May 19, 2010.Summer classes will be offered in three different sessions: May 19 through June 22, June 28 through July 30, and August 2 through August 20, 2010. Of the hundreds of courses being offered this summer, 53 of them will be offered online through distance learning.
“The major benefit of distance learning is that it can suspend time and space,” says Ronald Chalmers, senior instructional technologist at Hofstra. “Distance learning that is well done can provide experiences that on campus courses may not be able to, like learning with subject-matter experts who cannot physically come to a campus to meet with students.”
Hofstra’s first-rate education is available where you want it, when you want it as students and faculty can log on to the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week from any time zone to study subjects such as anthropology, computer science, history, management, marketing and political science.
