Study Abroad with Hofstra University

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University is offering both Hofstra and visiting students the opportunity to earn academic credits this summer through its study abroad programs.

Students have the opportunity to earn up to six credits toward their academic degree by enrolling in a study abroad program and/or participating in an international internship for the summer, the winter intersession, a semester or an entire academic year.

This summer, the following programs are being offered through Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (HCLAS) and the School of Education, Health and Human Services (SOEHHS):

•    “Hofstra in China” (May 18-June 16, 2000)
•    “Hofstra in Sorrento” (May 27 through June 13, 2009)
•    “Hofstra in Italy” (July 3-July 18, 2009)
•    “Hofstra in Ireland (June 28 through July 23, 2009)
•    “Hofstra in Spain” (July 1 through July 31, 2009)
•    “Hofstra in Paris” (July 1 through August 1, 2009)
•    “Hofstra in Japan” (July 8 through August 5, 2009)

“Hofstra’s study abroad programs allow students to meet interesting people, have new adventures, create lifelong memories, and have their lives changed,” says Maria Fixell, coordinator of HCLAS study abroad programs.

Hofstra prides itself on the diverse selection of study abroad programs available.  Whether students choose to study abroad to enhance the level of a specific language or culture, or to expand the knowledge of a specific concentration, they can find an appropriate program.
