The Rockefeller Drug Laws: Where to From Here? How Do We Continue to Push for Real Reform?

The Rockefeller Drug Laws: Where to From Here? How Do We Continue to Push for Real Reform? will be held at Hofstra University on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 8 p.m. This event is presented by Hofstra University's School of Education and Allied Human Services and The New York Civil Liberties Union, Nassau Chapter.

Featured speaker is Bob Gangi, executive director of the Correctional Association, who will assess recent changes to the Rockefeller Drug Laws. The Correctional Association of New York is an independent, non-profit organization founded by concerned citizens in 1844 and granted unique authority by the New York State Legislature to inspect prisons and to report its findings and recommendations to the legislature, the public and the press. Through monitoring, research, public education and policy recommendations, the Correctional Association strives to make the administration of justice in New York State more fair, efficient and humane.

The location of this event is Hofstra’s Leo A. Guthart Cultural Center Theater, located on the first floor of the Axinn Library, South Campus. It is free and open to the public. For more information call Professor Andrea Libresco at (516) 463-6543.
