Uhry, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Driving Miss Daisy, sets The Last Night of Ballyhoo in 1939 Atlanta, and the story follows an upper-class Jewish family coping with budding romances, the rumblings of World War II, the premiere of Gone With the Wind and, above all, Ballyhoo, the biggest social event of the year.  The Last Night of Ballyhoo was the winner of the Tony Award for Best Play. The Hofstra production is directed by Pamela Seiderman.
