Hofstra Entertainment Presents LI Premiere of "Cafe Coward"

A 1930s Cabaret Tribute to the Words and Music of Noel Coward

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … August 10 to 26 Hofstra University’s Hofstra Entertainment presents the Long Island premiere of Café Coward, a 1930s cabaret tribute to the words and music of Noël Coward. The show, conceived and directed by Lance Hewett, with book by Lance Hewett, features musical direction and arrangements by Bryan Williams.

You're invited to join Noël Coward and his celebrity guests – Gertrude Lawrence, Elsa Maxwell, Beatrice Lillie, Cole Porter, Tallulah Bankhead, Laurence Olivier, Vivien Leigh and The Lunts – for the gala opening night party of Café Coward! Tuneful wit and sophistication come to musical life through the sardonic, sentimental, wistful and wicked songs of Noël Coward, including “I'll See You Again,” “Mad About the Boy,” “Someday I'll Find You,” “If Love Were All,” “Twentieth Century Blues,” “Nina,” “Why Must the Show Go On?,” “Matelot,” “You Were There” and “Let's Do It!”.

Show times are Friday, August 10, 17, 24, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, August 11, 18, 25, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, August 12, 19, 26, at 2 p.m. at Hofstra’s Monroe Lecture Center Theater, California Avenue, South Campus.Tickets are $25, $23 senior citizen (over 65), $15 matriculated non-Hofstra student with ID, $10 Hofstra faculty/staff/student with current HofstraCard (two-ticket maximum).
