Listen to an excerpt of director Amy Dolan Fletcher's interview with WRHU's Susan Murphy.
With music by Harry Warren and lyrics by Al Dubin, 42nd Street brings to life the timeless and inspiring tale of small-town girl Peggy Sawyer’s rise from chorus girl to Broadway star. The show features such unforgettable songs as “We’re in the Money”, “Shuffle Off to Buffalo”, and “Lullaby of Broadway.” With a book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble and based on the novel by Bradford Ropes, this Hofstra Entertainment and Gray Wig production of 42nd Street is directed and choreographed by Amy Dolan Fletcher with musical direction by William W. Williams.

This production is not Amy Dolan Fletcher’s first foray onto 42nd Street. The Island Park resident played “Anytime Annie” in the Broadway revival of the show. Her other Broadway credits include “Rizzo” in Grease and “Ellie” in Hal Prince’s Showboat on London’s West End.

Show times for 42nd Street are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $32 adult; $30 senior citizen (over 65); and $15 matriculated non-Hofstra students with ID. Members of the Hofstra community may purchase up to two tickets for $10 each upon presentation of a current HofstraCard. For tickets and more information call the Hofstra Box Office, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at (516) 463-6644 or visit www.hofstra.edu/HofstraEntertainment.

Please note: All proceeds from the Saturday, August 29, 8 p.m. performance of 42nd Street
will benefit five Gray Wig endowed scholarships for Hofstra students of the arts.
