Start and Expand a Business in a Challenging Economy
Free Information Session on September 30, 2009
Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York – Learn strategies to grow your business and optimize potential opportunities during the economic downturn. The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) offered by Hofstra University's Scott Skodnek Business Development Center provides participants with the "nuts and bolts" skills required to operate and cultivate a successful business. Participants receive training and counseling that will enable them to complete a business plan while attending the program. A free information session about the EAP will be held September 30, 2009 at 6 pm in Breslin Hall, Room 216, South Campus.Since February 1991, the EAP has helped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs launch and expand their businesses through management skills training offered in workshops ranging from developing marketing strategies to creating financial management systems. The next 60-hour program will be offered from October 12-December 16, 2009 on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-9 pm for a fee of $495 (scholarships and installments available), which includes a manual and all materials. An Entrepreneurship Certificate is earned upon completion of requirements.
Information session attendees will have the opportunity to speak with Judith Tyne, program director and senior associate dean, about the workshops and assistance available to foster their success.
