Strategies to achieve successful business processes and quality improvements

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY –Improve your business management strategy using Lean Six Sigma. The Frank G. Zarb School of Business Department of Information Technology and Quantitative Methods is co-sponsoring The American Society for Quality’s, Long Island Section, second annual symposium on September 26, 2008 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Leo A. Guthart Cultural Center Theater, Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library, South Campus.

The American Society for Quality seeks to create better workplaces and communities by providing its members with the knowledge to improve business results. Lean Six Sigma is a business management strategy that encourages executive management to improve process efficiency and increase economic profit by utilizing metrics that recognize the alignment between stakeholder needs and corporate priorities.

The symposium will provide useful information on how to achieve a successful, balanced process and improve service quality.  ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belts and Practicing Black Belts will share success stories on strategies and tools used to implement LSS methodology resulting in bottom-line improvements in government, health care, process, manufacturing and service industries. Continental breakfast served at 8 am prior to the event.

Topic #4:  LSS applied to the Foreign Visits and Assignments process at Brookhaven National Lab (BNL) by Joseph Labas, BS, MS, CSSBB

Topic #5:  Lean Six Sigma to a Semi-autonomous Government Service Organization by Owen Ramsay, CQE, CQM, CSSBB

The cost to attend the symposium is $100, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch. The registration fee is waived for Hofstra students, faculty and staff.
