Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University's IDEAS Institute will hold the first in a series of lectures entitled Science Evenings With IDEAS on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 7:30-9:00pm. "Death From a Distance: The Evolution of Our Common Humanity" will discuss the decades-long research project has shed strong new light on how we evolved to be human - so unlike any other animal in the history of our planet.

Paul Bingham and Joanne Souza from the department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Stonybrook University will lead the talk based on their book, Death From a Distance and the Birth of a Humane Universe.  They will be on hand to sign copies of their book, which will be available for sale at the event. 

This lecture, as well as the entire series is free and open to the public. The event will be held at the Monroe Lecture Center Theatre, South Campus.

IDEAS Institute of the School of Education, Health and Human Services - Creating Public Visibility for Advances in Science and Technology
