Hofstra Students to Gather for Panel Discussion and Viewing of Second Presidential Debate

One of a series of Debate Watch programs leading to October 15 debate at Hofstra; faculty to lead discussion and explain how to interpret debates

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Students, faculty and members of the public will assemble at Hofstra on Tuesday in the Student Center Theater, Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, North Campus to view and discuss the second presidential debate. Hofstra faculty will lead a panel discussion beginning at 8 p.m., followed by the 9 p.m. large-screen viewing of the second presidential debate from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Last week's DebateWatch for the vice presidential debate from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri drew a crowd of more than 200 to the Student Center Theater as Hofstra experts educated the crowd of what to expect during the debate and how to interpret the candidate responses.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Third Presidential Debate at Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY
Location: Student Center Theater, Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, North Campus (student viewing).
Location: Monroe Lecture Center Theater, California Avenue, South Campus (public viewing).

Hofstra University will host the third and final presidential debate of the 2008 election season on October 15.  This debate, focused on domestic issues, will be televised live around the world.
