Scott Ritter to Speak at Hofstra

Former United Nations Chief Weapons Inspector will discuss "Iraq/Iran Confidential: What You Should Really Know About U.S. Warfare and Intelligence in the Middle East"

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY
– Former United Nations Chief Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter will speak at Hofstra University on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Monroe Lecture Center Theater location, California Avenue, south campus. The lecture is sponsored by the Office of the Provost, Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Communication and the Professional Organization in Speech Education (P.O.I.S.E.).

When Scott Ritter, acting as chief weapons inspector for the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) determined that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, the U.S. government labeled him as a rebel. Mr. Ritter ultimately resigned from UNSCOM and continued his crusade for the truth, writing his best-selling books Confidential: The Untold Story of the Intelligence Conspiracy to Undermine the U.N. and Overthrow Saddam Hussein; and Endgame: Solving the Iraq Problem – Once and For All.

In his upcoming book, Target Iran: The Truth about the White House’s Plans for Regime Change, Mr. Ritter zeroes in on Iran as the next potential global hotspot and the catastrophic effects a conflict with Iran would have on every aspect of our lives.

Admission to the event is free and open only to the Hofstra community, including students, alumni, faculty, administrators and employees. Seating is limited.
