Hofstra Administrator Tapped for Board of National Physician Assistant Organization
Theresa V. Horvath elected to two-year term on board of the Physician Assistant Education Association
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY - Theresa V. Horvath, director of Hofstra University's Physician Assistant Studies Program, has been elected to the board of directors of the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA), the national organization that represents physician assistant programs in the United States.Horvath, MPH, PA-C, will begin her two-year term as a director at-large in January 2011. She joined Hofstra to become program director of the PA program in 2008. Before that, she was the founding director of the PA program at Mercy College. She has serve as PAEA's liaison to the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and has represented the American Academy of Physician Assistants on the National Advisory Council of the National Health Service Corps. She has also authored or co-authored numerous publications and articles.
She has been a member of PAEA for 12 years, and has witnessed the tremendous growth of the organization. "In this period of national reflection on the meaning of health," Horvath said, "PAEA has the opportunity to participate, to learn, and to lead."
