Why did you pick your major?
I wanted to inspire students to be comfortable in their own skin and develop the courage to try new things using sport as the gateway.
Why did you pick Hofstra?
I chose Hofstra because I wanted to be able to play the sport I love, softball, competitively while getting a good education. I fell in love with the coaches and the campus at Hofstra.
Favorite class/professor:
Dr. Sell in the exercise science department. She is my favorite professor because her passion for her students rubs off in class. She goes over the top to make sure all of her students are on track with their grades and schedules and you can really tell that she enjoys what she teaches and makes the classes enjoyable.
Favorite thing about NY/Long Island:
My favorite thing would be that I get to go away and stay at college, but because my home is only 12 miles away.
Why did you pick your major?
I wanted to inspire students to be comfortable in their own skin...
Favorite campus eatery:
Student Center because we are able to sit with all of the athletes and the variety of students that gather in the student center.
Favorite campus spot:
The softball field because it’s where the team puts in hours and hours of hard work and dedication and the same spot where we get to showcase our hard work when season rolls around.
What surprised you about Hofstra?
The thing that surprised me was the close relationship of the exercise science and the physical education department is. They work together to help their students and work with the sports teams’ schedules because they understand what it takes to be an athlete. The professors in both departments are amazing and you can always talk to any professor and he/she will do whatever he/she can to help.
What is your idea of success in 5 years? Or in 20 years?
My idea of success in 20 years would be me becoming the athletic director of a high school and living in a house with my husband and children.
Best Hofstra memory:
My best Hofstra memory is when we defeated UCLA at UCLA and then went on to win the regional to go to the softball program’s first ever superregional (in the NCAA softball tournament).
What do you take the most “Pride” in?
I take the most pride in being a member of the Hofstra softball team.
What have you found as your “Purpose”?
My purpose is to help lead my team to win the Women’s College World Series
