Why did you pick your major?
Numbers always intrigued me. My undergraduate major was in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics so Finance seemed to be the logical next step in my career.

Why did you pick Hofstra?
Proximity to NYC.

Internships:
Lightship Partners, LLC – summer 2012
National Grid – fall 2012 - Present

Favorite campus activity:
Game Room and Group Exercise Classes in the Fitness Center because you get to meet a lot of different students outside of class, build new friendships, and learn about new cultures.

Favorite class/professor:
Advanced Derivative Markets (FIN 266) with Dr. Karagozoglu.

Why?
I was able to learn in class what I was seeing first hand at my internship. It was my first experience at learning a theoretical concept in class and then being able to practically apply it in the real world. It was very tough and quite a challenge, but was also very educative, interactive and everything that I was looking for in a graduate class in the United States.

What have you found as your "Purpose"?
I hope to give back to the world everything that I have been fortunate enough to receive.

Favorite thing about NY/Long Island:
Beaches in LI and food in NYC

Favorite campus eatery:
Au Bon Pain

Favorite campus spot:
Game Room

What surprised you about Hofstra?
The size and beauty of the campus and how warm and welcoming everyone on-campus was.

What is your idea of success in 5 years?  Or in 20 years?
Run a Hedge Fund/Portfolio Management company of my own.

Best Hofstra memory:
The excitement and hustle-bustle around campus during the Presidential Debate.

What do you take the most “Pride” in:
I take most pride in my roots, my family and my friends. I feel as though I would be quite lost without their love and support. I also take pride in my ability to work hard and live independently so far away from the country I was born and raised in. Hofstra only makes it easier!

What have you found as your “Purpose?”
I hope to give back to the world everything that I have been fortunate enough to receive. I would love to be in a position to help someway in anyway possible, during their hour of need, both in kind and in spirit. I have always made an effort to go out of my way to make people feel comfortable and welcome around me and wish to continue doing so.
