Hofstra Entertainment Presents "Til the End of Time" Perry Como at 100

Saturday, July 21, at 8 p.m.; Sunday, July 22, 2 p.m.

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY …  Hofstra Entertainment is celebrating the 100th birthday of Perry Como with the world premiere of the tribute concert, “Til the End of Time” ~ Perry Como at 100, featuring the 15-piece Big Apple Big Band and 10 guest vocalists at Hofstra University’s John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus. Show times are Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 22, 2012, at 2 p.m.

Favorite songs to be performed include “Catch A Falling Star,” “Ave Maria,” “It’s Impossible,” “Arrivederci Roma,” “I Concentrate On You,” “Santa Claus is Coming To Town,” “Prisoner of Love,” “And I Love You So,”  and “Til The End of Time.”

Perry Como’s career spanned more than 50 years. Born in 1912, he sold millions of records for RCA and pioneered a weekly musical variety television show, which set the standards for the genre and proved to be one of the most successful shows in television history. The pop ballad “Till the End of Time” was the first song that Perry Como sold more than one million copies of and marked the beginning of his very successful recording career. He went on to become the first artist to have 10 records sell more than one million copies. Join us for a loving and memorable musical tribute to the one and only Perry Como.

Tickets are $30 adult; $25 senior citizen (over 65); $20 matriculated non-Hofstra student with ID;  $15 Hofstra faculty/staff/student with current HofstraCard (one-ticket maximum); $23 group rate for 20+ individuals.
