Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … As part of Hofstra University's James Bond symposium, Bond, James Bond: The World of 007, to be held November 7 and 8, 2007, Aston Martin Long Island has agreed to display an Aston Martin DB9-Coupe – which was the basis for DBS model seen in Casino Royale – on the Hofstra campus on Thursday, November 8, 2007.
The Aston Martin has long been associated with the James Bond films, having first appeared in 1964's Goldfinger, followed by Thunderball, The Living Daylights, Golden Eye, Die Another Day and most recently in Casino Royale. The car has been featured so prominently in the films, it has been like a recurring character.
The car will be displayed from noon to 5 p.m. on Hofstra’s South Campus at Hofstra Hall Plaza (in front of the Axinn Library). Then in time for a 6 p.m. banquet it will be moved to the North Campus east circle ramp, adjacent to the Mack Student Center. For more information on the James Bond symposium call the Hofstra Cultural Center at (516) 463-5669 or visit www.hofstra.edu/culture
