Hofstra Library Offers Students $1,000 Prize for Best Researched PaperHofstra University, Hempstead, NY –The Hofstra University Library is offering an award for the best researched academic paper by a senior scheduled to graduate in May 2008. The Undergraduate Library Research Award includes a $1,000 prize and a $250 Barnes & Noble Gift Certificate.
The candidate must have written the paper using library resources while he or she was an undergraduate. A faculty member must support the paper as being outstanding.
The deadline for all submissions is Monday, May 12, 2008. The research paper must be submitted - either by the student or the faculty member - to the office of the Dean of the Library and Information Services, 9th floor, Joan & Donald E. Axinn Library. All submissions must be accompanied by a ULRA submission form signed by the supporting faculty member. Forms are available at the:

All papers must be based on library research; must be a minimum of five pages in length and include a bibliography composed using a standard academic citation format such as APA, MLA, etc.; and must have been written for an undergraduate course taken during the academic year of 2007/2008 (January, 2007; Spring 2007; Summer 2007; Fall 2007; January 2008; Spring 2008).
