Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY -  Steven Freiberg, chief executive officer of E*TRADE, and Dr. Colin Goddard, Ph.D, former chief executive officer and director of OSI Pharmaceuticals, have been appointed to the university's Board of Trustees, President Stuart Rabinowitz announced today.

Freiberg, an alumnus who earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Frank G. Goddard, a noted cancer pharmacologist, has been a distinguished lecturer, an honorary degree recipient and commencement speaker.

"Both of these men have enduring ties to Hofstra," President Rabinowitz said. "Steven Freiberg is an alumnus who personifies Hofstra pride and purpose, not just in his professional accomplishments, but in his personal generosity to this institution. "Dr. Colin Goddard -- and under his leadership, OSI Pharmaceuticals -- have long been committed to a variety of programs and events at Hofstra, with a particular commitment to promoting science education. It's my great pleasure to welcome them to the Board of Trustees."

He is also included on the William and Kate Hofstra Honor Roll, a roster created in honor of the university's 75th anniversary that recognizes individuals who have had a lasting impact on the institution. He and his wife live in Jericho.
