March 6 to 16: Hamlet – Celebrating the 59th Annual Hofstra Shakespeare Festival
And the 50th Anniversary of the John Cranford Adams Playhouse

Special guest director Gus Kaikkonen

This production of Hamlet will take place on Hofstra's famous reconstruction of the Globe theater, which the Playhouse was designed to accommodate. Hofstra's Shakespeare Festival moved to the John Cranford Adams Playhouse stage in 1958, and every part of the Playhouse, from the scaffolding to the lighting, was designed with the Globe theater in mind. Join us as we celebrate the beginning of the next 50 years of Shakespeare on Hofstra's own Globe stage with Hamlet, Shakespeare’s masterpiece on the morality and nature of revenge.

Performances are Thursday, March 6, at 8 p.m.; Friday, March 7 and 14, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 8 and 15, at 8 p.m.; Sunday, March 9 and 16, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12, $10 for senior citizens (over 65) or matriculated non-Hofstra students with ID. Members of the Hofstra community may receive one free ticket upon presentation of a current HofstraCard. Tickets go on sale February 5.
