Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University is offering a pre-college program for high school juniors and seniors, July 6-30, 2010.

In addition to earning three college credits, the pre-college program includes opportunities for SAT preparation and assistance with the college search process.  Students choose one course from a specially selected list of regular Hofstra offerings in such subjects as Forensic Anthropology, Economics, Fine Art, Literature, Speech Communication, Journalism, Political Science, Psychology, History, Languages (Chinese, Italian, Spanish) and Philosophy.  For a complete list of courses, visit hofstra.edu/precollegecourses

Pre-college students can opt to commute, or get the full college experience by living on campus Hall with residential professionals and undergraduate program assistants. All students will participate in a series of seminars and workshops on the college search process led by professionals in Admissions, Financial Aid and Career Development. All pre-college students (both residential and commuting) will be able to participate in extra- and co-curricular activities that complement and enrich the academic experience.

The Hofstra University’s Summer Science Research Program will also be available for pre-college students and will provide selected research-oriented high school students an opportunity to work with Hofstra’s science faculty during the summer in an on campus research program.
