Jessica Eads, vice president for enrollment management, named one of Long Island Business News’ “40 under 40”
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY - Vice President for Enrollment Management Jessica Eads has been named one of Long Island's "40 under 40" for 2010, an annual award given by Long Island Business News that recognizes outstanding young business and community leaders.
Eads, a Hofstra alumnus who began her professional life at the University in 1997, will be honored at an awards dinner on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Hofstra is among the sponsors of the event.
At Hofstra, Eads has steadily risen through the ranks, and this fall, became Vice President for Enrollment Management, assuming responsibility for a wide range of services, including all undergraduate enrollment and recruitment, financial aid, bursar/student accounts, registrar and academic records.
"We're very proud to see Vice President Eads' recognized for her many contributions to the community," said Hofstra President Stuart Rabinowitz. "As an alumnus, she exemplifies the University's commitment to producing the next generation of young leaders."
Among her accomplishments at Hofstra, Eads pioneered the use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter in admissions, launched blogs by admissions counselors, introduced a holistic approach to evaluating applicants and overhauled the University's financial aid process to give students and their families more personal attention.
"I'm honored and humbled to be part of such an accomplished group of people as this year's ‘40 under 40' awardees," Eads said. "I congratulate each one of them for their achievements, and thank Long Island Business News for including me among them."
Besides earning her Bachelor of Arts in social sciences from Hofstra, Eads holds a master's degrees in counseling and educational administration from Columbia University Teachers' College.
