Hofstra's Center for Civic Engagement Celebrates Black History Month

Noted Attorney Fred Brewington Speaks Out on Civil Rights

Uniondale, NY - Hofstra University's Center for Civic Engagement will welcome Hempstead attorney Fred Brewington for a program entitled "The Role of the Civil Rights Movement in 21st-Century Politics."

The program, which takes place on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the Leo A. Guthart Cultural Center Theater, on the first floor of the Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library, is free and open to the public.  Hofstra's political theater group In Touch Arts will stage an opening performance.

About Fred Brewington, Esq.
Fred Brewington, Esq., is a respected Hempstead attorney and community advocate.  Through litigation, writing and lecturing, he challenges discriminatory practices throughout Long Island.  An adjunct professor at the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Mr. Brewington has been a pro bono adviser to many community groups and organizations.  In 2007 he was honored by Hofstra University with a Gandhi, King, Ikeda Award presented by Morehouse College, Atlanta.
