Hofstra Students to Gather Feb. 5 for Super Tuesday Primary Returns
Part of year-long "Educate '08"effort leading up to Oct. 15, 2008 presidential debate at Hofstra
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Hofstra students will gather on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 from 7-11 p.m. to cheer on their candidates and watch the returns of the 2008 Super Tuesday presidential primaries.The Super Tuesday Primary Returns Party will be held in Studio A (Room 114) of Dempster Hall, south campus. It begins at 7 p.m. with a discussion with students who recently attended three days of election events leading up to the New Hampshire primary, and continues at 8 p.m. with conversations with Hofstra presidential election and media experts.
The Super Tuesday Primary Returns Party, sponsored by Hofstra University’s Office of the Provost, School of Communication, Political Science Department, Center for Civic Engagement and WRHU Radio Hofstra University, is part of Educate ‘08, an unprecedented educational effort that will engage not only students and faculty but also the public in a year-long series of conferences, events and lectures leading up the Oct. 15, 2008 presidential primary at Hofstra. Our unique programs, such as the Peter S. Kalikow Center for the Study of the American Presidency, the Center for Civic Engagement, the Hofstra Cultural Center and the National Center for Suburban Studies, are important partners in this series.
