Start and Expand a Business in a Challenging Economy
Free Information Session on March 2, 2011
Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York – The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) offered by Hofstra University's Scott Skodnek Business Development Center provides participants with the "nuts and bolts" skills required to operate and cultivate a successful business. Participants receive training and counseling that will enable them to complete a business plan while attending the program. A free information session about the EAP will be held March 2, 2011 at 6 pm in Brower Hall, Room 209, South Campus.Since February 1991, the EAP has helped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs launch and expand their businesses through management training offered in workshops ranging from developing marketing strategies to creating financial management systems. The next 60-hour program will be offered from March 14 to May 18, 2011 on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 pm for a fee of $495, which includes a manual and all materials. An Entrepreneurship Certificate is earned upon completion of requirements.
Information session attendees will have the opportunity to speak with Judith Tyne, program director and associate dean, about the workshops and assistance available to foster their success.

The Scott Skodnek Business Development Center is a multidisciplinary center offering human and technological resources for business support and education, as well as community service. It also supports government agencies in their own endeavors and in their efforts to assist businesses in the metropolitan area.
