Start and Expand a Business in a Challenging Economy
Free Information Session on March 4, 2009
Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York –Entrepreneurs will learn the strategies to grow a business and take advantage of opportunities during the economic downturn in the Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP). Workshops will provide participants with "nuts and bolts skills" required to operate and grow a successful business. A free information session about the EAP will be held March 4, 2009 at 6 pm in Brower Hall, Room 101, South Campus.Since February 1991, the EAP has helped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs launch and expand their businesses through one-on-one counseling with business owners and workshops ranging from market research to financial management. The next 60-hour program will be offered from March 16 - May 20, 2009 on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-9 pm for a fee of $495 (scholarships and installments available), which includes a manual and all materials. Clients gain the training needed for business development and the skills to complete a business plan. An Entrepreneurship Certificate is earned upon completion of requirements.
Information session attendees will hear first-hand from an EAP graduate who started and successfully developed a thriving business. Guests will also have the opportunity to speak with Judith Tyne, director and senior assistant dean, about the workshops and assistance available to foster their success.
