HOFSTRA TO PRESENT BANK OF NEW YORK WHITE PAPER ON INSTITUTIONAL HEDGE FUNDS

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY -The Merrill Lynch Center for the study of International Financial Services and Markets of the Frank G. Zarb School of Business will present a Bank of New York white paper, "Institution Demand for Hedge Funds will Triple to $1 Trillion by 2010" on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. The event will take place from 6:15- 8:30 p.m., room 246, Scott Skodnek Business Development Center, Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library, south campus.

The paper will be presented by Orla Nallen, managing director for The Bank of New York's Securities Industry Banking Division. Ms. Nallen is responsible for the credit and global client management of the Bank's Hedge Fund clients. In addition to managing the relationships, she is responsible for business development for the bank's products to the hedge fund industry.

Brian A. Ruane, executive vice president of The Bank of New York, will introduce the white paper. Mr. Ruane, who has global responsibility for the securities industry banking division, hedge funds and relationships with U.S. banks, received his M.B.A. in International Banking and Finance from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra in 1995. He is also a member of the corporate Advisory Board of The Frank G. Zarb School of Business.
