Zarb Accounting Students to Compete in the First MWE Long Island College Accounting Challenge
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Zarb School of Business accounting students will participate in the first College Accounting Challenge sponsored by CPA firm Margolin, Winer & Evens, LLP on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Hillwood Commons Lecture Hall on the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University, 720 Northern Boulevard, Brookville, New York.Seniors from Hofstra University, Adelphi University, the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University and SUNY-Old Westbury will compete in a quiz show format hosted by
Cablevision's News12 weekend anchor Drew Scott. Mike Peress, MWE compliance partner, and Mark Stone, president of the Nassau chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, will act as judges.
The challenge will consist of four categories: ethics, tax, auditing and financial accounting.
One contestant from each school will represent their team in each round.
A plaque and prizes will be awarded to the winning team. All participants will receive a gift from the sponsor.
