CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 to Broadcast Live from Hofstra

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … On Thursday, March 19, Hofstra University will be the fourth stop for CNN anchor Anderson Cooper's "Road to Rescue" economic survival series, a week-long, in-depth cross-country tour through which CNN is discussing the economic crisis. Cooper's CNN show, "Anderson Cooper 360," will broadcast live from the Hofstra campus at 10 p.m. EDT on Thursday night.

"We are looking forward to hosting Anderson Cooper so he can experience the enthusiasm, dedication and spirit of our students and the entire Hofstra community," said Hofstra University President Stuart Rabinowitz. "In the past year the Hofstra community have been active participants in the presidential campaign and election by attending our Educate '08 program which studied the issues and history of the presidential campaign, and by assisting and attending the third and last debate held on our campus on October 15, 2008. Mr Cooper's visit is an important part of our new series, Define '09, which looks at the challenges and opportunities of the new presidential administration."

Students will be asked to participate or watch the show as it is broadcast live. Cooper will also be at Hofstra for a 3 p.m. Define '09 appearance, "A 360 View of World Events," in the John Cranford Adams Playhouse. Due to high demand, registration for the Cooper lecture has been closed.
