The War in Iraq: Hard Times and Hard Choices: Where do we go from here?
WRHU, Radio Hofstra University, to host live radio forum marking fourth anniversary of Iraq War
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY - A forum on the War in Iraq featuring peace activists, conservative policy analysts, academics, students, and Iraq war veterans will be held at Hofstra University on Wednesday, March 21, 2007. The forum, which takes place from 7-10 p.m. at the Monroe Lecture Center Theater, California Avenue, south campus, is part of Hofstra's fourth Day of Dialogue, a day devoted to a campus-wide discussion of the issues that face our world.Participants are expected to debate President Bush's recent troop surge, the justification for the war, and the options for the U.S. in the conflict. Speakers include Mackenzie Eaglen, senior researcher at the Heritage Foundation; Carolyn Eisenberg, professor of history at Hofstra University; Leslie Cagan, executive director of United for Peace and Justice; Rob Timmonds, Iraq-Afghanistan Veterans of America, IAVA; and Herold Noel, Iraq war veteran, 37th Cavalry, U.S. Army.
WRHU, Hofstra's student run radio station, will broadcast the forum on 88.7FM and online at www.wrhu.org, beginning at 6 p.m. with updates and analysis about the war and the home front. Student members Caitlin Cissne and Alan Hall will host the live forum, with an introduction by Mario A. Murillo, associate professor of communication at Hofstra, beginning at 7 p.m. The forum is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, please call 516-463-6062.
