Three Hofstra Honors College Students Accepted into the Amsterdam Program

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – As part of a student exchange program with the University of Amsterdam, Hofstra University has awarded three students the opportunity to spend a year studying European History and Culture at the University of Amsterdam for the 2010-2011 academic year. The recipients are three Honors College students, Christiaan Perez, Etana Jacobi and Kathryn Chlosta.

Christiaan Perez, who is from Antioch, California, and Etana Jacobi, who is from Hooksett, New Hampshire, are both political science majors. Christiaan and Etana are completing their duties as resident advisors. Kathryn Chlosta of Hamburg, New York is a business/economics major. All three recipients are sophomores.

In addition to the Honors students spending a full year in Amsterdam, the following students were also awarded a one semester scholarship for this study program: Nicholas Carbone, Teng Leong, Ryan Young (fall 2010), Michael Calabro, Brian Ross and Veronica Stroever (spring 2011).

They will receive Hofstra credit for courses in European history, geography, economics and political science, which are taught in English. For more information on the program visit: Hofstra.edu/Amsterdam.
