HOFSTRA ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS SEUSSICAL, THE MUSICAL

In Honor of the 50th Anniversary of The Cat in the Hat; July 13 to 29, John Cranford Adams Playhouse

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … In honor of the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Cat in the Hat, Hofstra University’s Hofstra Entertainment will present Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty’s Seussical the Musical at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse, July 13 to 29, 2007.

“Oh, the thinks you can think!” says the Cat in the Hat at the onset of this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza that brings to life all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville! As each story unfolds, you’ll marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’ subtle themes are, making this a musical that appeals to all ages. The score emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk! So let your toes tap, your fingers snap, and your imagination run wild!

Featuring direction and choreography by Amy Dolan Fletcher and musical direction by William W. Williams, Seussical the Musical, will be performed on Friday, July 13, 20, 27, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, July 14, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, July 21, 28, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, July 15, 22, 29, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $30, $28 senior citizen (over 65), $15 matriculated non-Hofstra student with ID and $10 for children under 12. Members of the Hofstra community may purchase up to two tickets for $10 each upon presentation of a current HofstraCard.
