Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University’s annual Golf and Tennis Tournament to raise money for student scholarships this year will honor Jack Weisbaum '64 and BDO Seidman, LLP. The tournament takes place on Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Old Westbury Golf & Country Club.

Jack Weisbaum is chief executive officer of BDO Seidman, LLP. He previously served as chairman of the board of directors and as the national leader for the firm’s Specialized Services business line. With 50 years in public accounting, Mr. Weisbaum has been a trusted adviser to hundreds of businesses, ranging from small, privately held companies to major corporations listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He has been honored by various organizations for his contributions to the business community, including the American Jewish Congress, B'nai B'rith and Brandeis University. Accounting Today, the leading trade publication on the accounting profession in the United States, has named him one of the 100 most influential people in accounting for three consecutive years. Mr. Weisbaum is a 1964 graduate of Hofstra University.
