Hofstra Gray Wig Presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!"
September 1 to 16, 2007 at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse
Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY … The Hofstra Gray Wig theater group will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical Oklahoma! weekends, September 1 to 16, 2007, at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus.
Oklahoma! was the first collaboration of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein and was also one of the first "book musicals" that utilized songs and dance to help move along the plot of a play. It features songs such as "Oh What a Beautiful Mornin'," "The Surrey With the Fringe On Top," "Kansas City," "People Will Say We're In Love" and - of course - "Oklahoma!"
Show times for Oklahoma! are Friday, September 7 and 14, 8 p.m.; Saturday, September 1, 8 and 15 at 8 p.m. with an additional 2 p.m. matinee on September 15; and Sunday, September 2, 9 and 16 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $29; $27 senior citizen (over 65); $15 matriculated non-Hofstra student; $10 with current faculty/staff/student HofstraCard (two-ticket maximum).
The special September 15 matinee at 2 p.m. will be signed for the hearing impaired and also feature a "Meet the Cast" segment.
