Michael Amante is affectionately known as the “People's Tenor.” He has been crowned the “Prince of High C's” for his remarkable ability to hit and sustain with ease, one of the highest notes of a tenor’s voice. With Amante’s long history of singing popular rock and gospel music, coupled with extensive classical Bel-Canto training, he is able to sing even higher with a strength and mastery rarely heard anywhere in the world. Amante’s artistry drew the highest praise from none other than Luciano Pavarotti and also from legendary vocal superstar Tony Bennett who called Amante "the next Mario Lanza.” Mr. Amante’s performance at the Italian Experience Festival is co-sponsored by Patsy’s Restaurant (New York City) and The Music and Theatre Legacy Foundation. The Order Sons of Italy in America – Grand Lodge of New York Foundation, Inc., in cooperation with Hofstra University, is proud to present Mr. Amante with the inaugural Bravo! Award at the festival.
Singer, percussionist, actress and dancer Alessandra Belloni is the artistic director, founder and lead performer of I Giullari Di Piazza, an Italian music, theatre and dance ensemble who is the artist-in-residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. She specializes in traditional Southern Italian folk dances and percussion.
